2025 Board Election
Candidates
Jehvana Cook
My name is Jehvana Cook! I have been a Lodi resident for 11 years. I have a husband named
Cole, and we have 3 children who are heavily involved in an array of Lodi Athletics
(including Softball and Baseball). My son Braxton is 12, daughter Braelyn is 11 and
youngest son Brysen is 9. Like many other parents in town, I am sure we have crossed
paths at one point or another while shuttling kids between sports, coaching or other
extracurricular activities!
I played Middleton Highschool softball at a competitive level all 4 years and a little bit in
college. I am also currently the head coach for the Lodi JV Highschool softball team, and
for the past 3 years, have coached Lodi Community teams. Additionally, I have experience
coaching at Club softball level. For the past 7 months, I have served on the LAYBS board as
an interim Director, filling a 1-year open board seat. My experience mixed with my desire to
help positively mold our youth in sports has led me to coaching positions and involvement
on the youth board. With this exposure and involvement, I have gained a lot of knowledge in
the operations of the LAYBS board as well as leagues/tournament operations. I have also
built many great relationships with other knowledgeable members of baseball/softball
communities. Which is a helpful tool of resources to reference.
What I have learned over the years as a parent is that these youth programs cannot operate
successfully without knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers that have the best interest
of the kids at the forefront. Without the kids, there wouldn’t be a program to operate. Being
a board member takes time commitment and is a thankless role. I believe that a successful
youth program includes support from Highschool coaching staff. This is why I feel that
having Highschool coaching staff on the LAYBS board, is valuable in streamlining the
programs. With being a member of the Highschool coaching staff, I would like to continue
to add perspective, discussion points, and suggestions to the LAYBS board to continue to
build a healthy youth program and develop our Lodi Community athletes in both Softball
and Baseball. My intentions, if elected, as a member on the board are to be open-minded
to feedback from families, provide suggestions, opportunities and to help be a voice for our
youth. I understand that pleasing everyone is a challenging task (and realistically may not
be achievable), but I believe that with my relevant experiences, reliable resources,
dedication, and organizational skills, I can offer a voice to sustain a program that families in
the community appreciate and trust. Thank you!
Jon Landmann
Hi my name is Jon Landmann, and I have accepted the nomination for a LAYBS board position. I have been a baseball fan since I was a kid and really began following sofball when my daughter started Tball. I have enjoyed being an assistant softball coach for the last five years, and am fortunate to have been a part of the time in the player's development when they are really gaining skill, confidence and building a love for the sport. Throughout my time in softball, I have seen a lot of baseball/softball facilities and some really good programs, and as I lifelong Lodi area resident, I have a real passion for improving LAYBS for our future generations of ball players.
Thank you for your consideration.

Baseball has been a big part of my family’s life. Both of my boys have played in the Lodi Youth Baseball program, and one of them has proudly been a Demon for nearly five years. I’ve also had the privilege of helping coach my son’s team over the last four years. That experience has given me a unique perspective—not just as a parent cheering from the bleachers, but also as someone on the field helping kids grow in the game.
Even though my sons’ time in the youth program is starting to wind down, my love for the game—and my desire to see this program thrive—hasn’t changed. Baseball teaches lessons that go far beyond the field: teamwork, resilience, discipline, and sportsmanship. I want every kid in Lodi to have the same opportunities, memories, and friendships that my family has been fortunate to experience.
Looking ahead, I’d like to see our facilities upgraded to be more accessible and current. Having improved and updated fields and batting cages, and training spaces is a vision and will not only support kids who want to play year-round but also make the game more welcoming for beginners. Baseball should grow with our kids, and we should give them the tools to succeed at every level.
Most of all, I want this program to continue to be a positive experience—for both players and parents. Sports should bring families together, not add stress. My experiences as both a coach and parent have shown me the value of a supportive program, and I want to help make sure LAYBS continues to provide that for every family.
I’m running because I believe in Lodi Youth Baseball, and I want to give back to a program that has given so much to mine.
Thank you for considering me, and for supporting the kids who make this program what it is.
Stacy Schmitt
Hello Lodi Community!
My name is Stacy Schmitt and I am re-running for a position on the Lodi Area Youth Baseball and
Softball Board. I have lived in the area since 2011. My husband, Dan, grew up here but mainly
associates with the big city of Dane! We have three children, Lillian-4 th grade, Madelyn-2 nd grade, and
Nolan-4k. My daughters have been a part of LAYBS since their 4k T-ball days. I have been coaching T-ball
and coach pitch softball for the last five years. I currently hold the T-Ball Director role on the LAYBS
board.
I have always been passionate about baseball and softball. I enjoying playing in my women’s
leagues and a couple summer co-ed softball tournaments. I love coaching the youngest children in our
program by providing an encouraging, inclusive, and fun environment to learn the sport. My coaching
style helps children learn the fundamentals of baseball/softball while promoting teamwork and
sportsmanship. I’d like to continue streamlining the T-Ball program and other areas of our youth
program.
T-ball is often a child’s first experience with organized athletics. I see this as a powerful
opportunity to welcome new families and coaches to our youth program. As a dedicated member of the
LAYBS program I bring an open-minded approach, always ready to listen to feedback and support what is
working. I actively seek out challenges as opportunities for growth, and I am committed to continuous
improvement—both personally and within the program. I see myself as an agent of positive change,
advocating for timely and transparent communication to ensure that every family and coach feels
informed and respected.
I hope to give back to my community through my enthusiasm and by creating a positive
experience for players, coaches, and their families. My goal as a leader in our LAYBS program is to make
every participant feel seen, supported and excited to come back week after week, season after season. I
appreciate the nomination. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Stacy Schmitt
