Softball
Developmental Softball is 10u - 14u. There are no tryouts. All children are welcome to play. Travel to surrounding communities will be necessary to play.
Demon Softball is for those players looking for that extra competition and a higher skill level of play. These teams will travel throughout the state for weekend tournaments and also play weekday games with surrounding communities.
Ages
Appropriate for players in grades 3 thru 8.
When
Developmental
Season begins with practices in late April and games startling mid May and typically wraps up by the end of July.
Demon
Season begins with practices in April and regular games starting in May and typically wrapping up by the end of July. Team Selections are decided annually after player assessments that typically take place in August.
Games
Developmental
Teams will play 10-15 games over the course of the regular season and will usually fall on the weekdays.
Demon
Teams will play games over the course of the season. Single games will usually fall on the weekdays while tournament play occurs on select weekends.
EQUIPMENT
Jerseys and visors are provided. You will need to provide: Fielding Glove, Batting Helmet, Pants, Cleats and socks. Catching gear and bats will also be provided for each team, but feel free to bring your own. (check league rules for bat restrictions)
Extra Costs
Demon
A $100.00 additional fee is added to the invitation for Demon Tournament teams. These funds are used to cover tournament entry fees.
Additional tournament entry fees and possible hotel stays will be extra and not covered by LAYBS.

Cost $150.00 (plus processing fees)

2027
Cost $150.00 (plus processing fees)
An additional $100.00 fee will be added to those accepting a Demon Tournament team offer.
There is no charge for evaluations if you select installment payments at checkout.
Monthly $37.50 payments will be charged to your method of payment around the first of the month starting March 1st with the last payment being on or near June 1st.
If evaluating and later decide not to participate with LAYBS you will need to contact the LAYBS Registrar by February 5th to cancel your registration.
